We use the company Wise (www.wise.com) to get the best possible EUR/USD rate. It’s important to note that the published rate you see online or in newspapers is often the interbank rate (the bank to bank exchange rate). This is the best possible rate that banks charge each other, however the consumer rate is different. The consumer rate (the foreign exchange rate you get from the bank for ATM withdrawals and credit card transactions) is generally 3-4% higher.
We pass on the same rate we get from Wise to you, which is generally better than the standard consumer rate.
