What is the recommended tip for the crew?
Captains & Hostesses
Tipping your captain and crew is customary in Greece and always appreciated. It's a genuine way to recognize the hard work that goes into making your week on the water special.
There's no required amount, and your crew understands that gratuities vary with group size and boat type. That said, we're always happy to offer a starting point:
- Skipper-only charters: starting around 18% of the charter price. Skipper-only tips tend to run a bit higher because the charter price is lower and your captain is handling the full week solo.
- Crewed charters: starting around 15% of the charter price, split evenly between the captain and hostess. Crewed pricing varies quite a bit depending on group size and boat, so larger groups on our bigger catamarans typically go above this.
- Smaller groups tend to start near these figures, larger groups comfortably above them.
- On skipper-only charters, it's a kind gesture to offer the captain snacks or lunch during the day. They're often sailing from morning to evening with little time to prepare their own.
