What is the recommended tip for the crew?

There's no set amount or percentage, and your crew fully understands that gratuities can vary with things like group size and boat type. That said, we're always happy to offer some guidance:
  • Skipper-only charters: typically around 15–18% of the charter price.
  • Crewed charters: typically 10–15% of the charter price, split between the captain and hostess.
A few notes:
  • Smaller groups tend toward the lower end of the range, and larger groups toward the higher end.
  • These percentages already account for the fact that your charter price includes provisions, fuel, and fees that aren't typically tipped on — so in practice the effective gratuity works out to closer to 20% of the crew's actual service cost.
On skipper-only charters, it's a kind gesture to offer the captain snacks or lunch during the trip — they're often sailing all day with little time to prepare their own. Payment options Cash in euros is always preferred and easiest for the crew, and ATMs are readily available in Athens and on most islands. For convenience, we also accept electronic tips via Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal — just email us and we'll share the details.
